Preschool
The purpose of preschool is to build a strong foundation on which to build new skills. In order to build a strong foundation we need to provide activities to stimulate growth in all areas of development. Children learn best through play. At Play-N-Grow we provide hands on, developmentally appropriate activities for children to explore and learn. The best learning happens when they don't know they're learning!
*Our classes are separated by age and will only have as much structure as is developmentally appropriate. The following is written for our pre-kindergarten class, Eager Explorers. The younger classes, Busy Bees & Curious Cubs will be modified, but based off the curriculum written for the 4-5 year old class.
Preschool includes circle time, snack, whole group activities, small group centers, outdoor play, and free play.
Circle time: music, calendar, days of the week, seasons, weather, little helpers, daily themed lesson & story, and a social/emotional lesson & discussion.
-We learn about the days of the week, the months of the year, the current date, the seasons of the year, and weather changes. Each child is assigned a "Little Helper" job every day. The jobs include: calendar helper, weather helper, line leader, caboose, snack helper, table washer, light keeper, and garbage patrol. The children take pride in doing their jobs and have fun doing them! We implement our themed daily lesson into circle time. We have a new theme every week or two.
-We learn about 3 to 4 letters, 2 to 3 numbers, 1 shape, 1 color, 1 pattern, a few word family rhymes, and 1-2 character traits each month. We learn sight words as we are able.
Centers: 2 to 5 themed activities
-Centers include a variety of activities including sensory play, handwriting, math, science, rhyming, fine motorskill building, etc.
Whole Group Activities:
-Whole group activities include art, music and movement, social & emotional skill building, etc.
School Bags: You do not need to bring a back pack to preschool. Each child will receive a Play-N-Grow bag with his/her name on it. We will fill up your child's bag with their papers and projects every Friday. Just return it the following week.

Curious Cubs: Intro to preschool for ages 2 to 3 years (age 2 by August 31)
Tuesdays 8:30 am-11:00 am $20 per week
Busy Bees: Play to learn preschool for ages 3 to 4 years (age 3 by August 31), potty trained-preferred
Wednesday-Friday 8:30 am-11:00 am $50 per week
Eager Explorers: Pre-Kindergarten (kindergarten preparation) for ages 4 to 5 years (age 4 & potty trained by August 31)
Tuesday-Friday: 12:15-3:45 $90 per week
